Decomposing

Hurumanu - Decomposing and Recycling

Aim: To learn about the rate that different materials decompose. 

Hypothesis: I think that......

Materials:

1.   Bananas
2.   White styrofoam
3.   Paper/Cardboard
4.   Bread
5.   Test tube (x4)
6.   Test tube stand
7.     Laboratory Rubber stopper
8. water

Steps:

1. Gather materials.
2.   Cut stylophone,bread and banana into pieces.
3.    Then put 4 test tubes into the test tube stand.
4.   Put them in test tube.
5. Add water to the bread.
6. Put the lid of the test tube. 
7.   Wait for the change.

3 weeks	Colour	Change	Observations
Banana	Blue and brown	The colour change before the colour was yellow and green	It has a lot of moulds
Paper	Brown	It´s the same colour
Styrophone cup	white	it´s the same colour
Bread	Blue with spots	The colour used to brownish now it turn in to blue	The bread used to have no blackspot but now there is black spots.
